Mini 4wd Oct Meeting

To sum it up, this meeting was a disaster. The track is the toughest roller coster I ever expereinced. It has consecutive jumps, 90degree turns then a jump then 90degree turns (killed alot of cars). My car can't tackle that turns. Eventhough this time is time attack, I couldn't even complete 1 complete lap, which is pathetic.

My final setup were:
- double roller 9mm front, and 9mm back
- medium diameter wheel
- yellow-silver motor
- 3.5:1 gear ratio
- AO620
- Brake for front & back
- Added additional weight (1.5+1.5+2+2 = TOTAL 7 g)

There were two chances for the time attacked, and I blew it both times. I must admit I am very close to succeed at the final time attack. I believe it just needs bit more brake, and some more weight. If that doesn't work, I ll need to have small diameter or use a slower motor like orange silver / even chick-motor.

There were some damages for my car; couple of screws are bent (NOTE: FRONT LEFT is bent). Funny thing is that there are some car even faster than my car and still made it. I believe they are using yellow silver or orange-silver motor. Just that their roller & gear is super smooth.

Next time on my buy list, I must get the following items:
- 2&3mm screws pack
- MS orange/silver motor

That's all I could think of now. O yea, I finally became a member, just need to get the membership card in next meeting.

Naughty CM

Wow last night was a nightmare. After 8 hours of work, I just want some private time and played a 16min LoL game with co-worker. However, things didn't turnout; my mouse got taken by CM. For this, I must apologize to my co-worker Marco for losing that Dominion game which we're winning (when I still have my mouse). After that, I stick with my laptop touch pad... I don't even know why I could play like that. Guess I am being a good sports :)

Anyways, after she took away my mouse, I asked a couple of time to give me back the mouse. But as expected, she refused. Not only this cause my time, it started to get on my nerve. So without the mouse, I went to use my uncle's desktop. While listening to music, suddenly she came and turns my music to near mute and said "It's so loud." And then she went out to the living room where she can't even hear my music anyways.

After that while she was in the living room, I really want to use my own laptop to started on working one of the facebook project that me and my friends are working on. So I decided, I should take back things that belong to me. Since I don't want to search her stuff, I just used her mouse while she was away. Later, she found out and the war continues. She tried to reclaim her mouse, but I denied her attempt by moving the mouse away from her reach. After several attempt of failure. She dares to take away my dad's laptop. But I denied once again. One thing I must give her credited for is she got guts. I guess its because I am being too linear with and go easy her all year long, a bit of my fault. But she failed again. After several failure, she said "Your mouse clicking sound is disturbing study! Get out!". Consequently, I went out with my laptop and the temporary mouse to the living room and continue on surfing the net.

Next, she took the laptop and run away to her room and attempts to lock her doors. Without thinking, I ran after her to prevent her from locking the door. Then, she starts to threat, "I'll break this laptop."

NavyField - L1

Finally got to L1, it's a total baller. It can fit 10.5" Deck, that's some crazy amount of armor. No wonder they say UK is easy mode. The deck shows significance in GB cos there are a lot of other shells from small ships that get bounced. It can take a lot more hit then KM in general, particularly the paper ship H39. In terms of grind from POW, it is a bit tougher cos there is some experience issue with the POW. It seems like it count as a BB4 or something, so hitting the same class of ships will get significant lowered experience than you would get in KGV. Overall, POW at level is really poor. But once your supports can get your ships to 46kn, it starts to shine. Eventhough the range of the POW get ranged by a BB1, with that speed, you can often get decent attack on BB5. It's a fun ship to play with its block-shot guns. Back to L1. The L1 is slow with armor, 21/33. At high level, it can be 21/35. Also, the range of triple 16" L (lv 91) is a lot longer than the POW quad guns. Consequently, overall, the transition will be quite different from POW to L1.
Currently, I'll most likely level my gunner to level 91 to use the guns. After that, I ll probably level my KM CV a bit or continue on the L1.

Interview - IT Support

Today, I went to interview for IT support position. Just wanted to note to self on the following questions being asked.

1. What are the characteristics of a virus in a computer?
2. If somehow a computer in a networked environment is suspected to have a computer virus, what would you do?
3. What is PKI? Why is it call public key infrastructure?
4. If a confidential office word documents with version 2007, can't be opened in a computer due to that computer only have Microsoft Office 2003. How would you access it?
5. What is low-lv format?
6. If we want to disposal of old equipments to charity, what are the required actions needed to take before the disposal?
   

Thief at 7-11

Today, after taking a hair cut, I went to 7-11 near Lam Tin MTR to get a drink. As I was deciding which drink to get, I heard a voice in cantonese saying "Don't run, a thief!" Then suddenly on my left side, a 7-11 worker ran out of the employee's room and caught the guy who looks around 20s. I had a glance at the thief. Being caught, the guy admitted that he stole stuff, then he took out cup noodles out of his bag. He did tries to run, but the employee that came out from the employee's room grab the guy real tight and said "Don't run!" loudly. Next to the 7-11, there was a ATM. At that moment, coincidentally, there were two officers, with shotguns, were filling up the ATM with cash. So I continue to pay for my drink and walked back home since everything seems to be under control. First time seeing actual thief. That guy looks kinda crazy but is dressed in normal cloth. But why would he steal cup noodles... He must be very hungry and poor.

NavyField - Web Revamp!

Today, they finally launched a brand new website. It was alot better than before. How so?

1. The site actually looks legit, and its actually design by designer and not programmer.
2. More user friendly, and intuitive.
3. Everything is new and improved!
   

However there could still be improvement. Like showing the server's online/offline status. Show more HA status like who's the owner, who's attacking, defending, count down timer, etc.

Overall I am very please with the NF.
Especially they are giving away free premium for a month. Additionally, the Olive gift system is really attractive to kept us loyal player in-check of the websites for updates.

X-Men: First Class

Wow, I wasn't expect this series this good. I don't follow the comic, but had watch all previous x-men movies. This one is by far the best story-wise. It is actually focused on the two great mutant. Prof. X definitely earned more respect in this series for sure. One of the best scene I enjoyed was when the two protagonist meet wolverine. Even-though the response from wolverines personality is expected, it was EPIC.

San Guo Sha Card Game

San Guo Sha is the hottest game at the moment in HK as well as China. It is well design, and contains good game mechanics as well aesthetics artwork for each card. The package of some booster or expansion looks a bit cheap, other than that its pretty good overall. That might slow down the marketing to other country. I am sure they will work on that later. I will get a pack to start playing with friends cuz it's inexpansive and it could be played for several hours. Here are some brief information for those that are new to it.

Movie

There are so many movies I want to watch this year. Pirate of the caribiean, thor, fast 5, and someother movies that I forgets. Just watched Naruto Shippuuden 4th movie: the lost tower. It was not as good as I anticipated when I watched the trailer. I was hoping for more collaboration between Minato and Naruto. There could even be more screentime for Minato. Out of the other Naruto movie, this one is probably the worst IMO. The battle scenes were not spectacular for a movie. However, I do love the ending. But one things that keeps annoying me is the girl Sura kept telling everyone to trust her and follow her. That went over the board. Also, the villan is a bit dull, simple puppet stuff.

Busy Busy~

Haven't have time yet again for updating post. This is all because of the disoragnization in planning of the projects + research + presentation in my study in U. There are just too much going on, just doesn't have time for update. Even I am busy (writing report atm), I want to make this post to update my current status. There are several things I want to write about in this post.

Ninja:
LOL I even forgot the name of it already, that game just consume too much of my time, so I quit. Also that game doesn't seem to dynamic to me, maybe due to its still being in beta stage. Most of the people have similar skills and build. The top tier people just use speed build. That build just have too much advantage.

NavyField:
Today I came on for HA, 9/10 battles were boring since the opponent fleet are small, I encountered most of their decoy force with 1 bb, or even a ca... To keep it short, it was boring overall. When I actually get to see their main fleet, my game froze on me and I got sunk due to my ship going in straight lines...there goes my $70,000 repair cost. I am not rich to begin with, but now I am only left with 280k in my account.

Ragnarok Online:
My RK got to lv 147, 3 lv away from 150, can't wait. It's funny that I got a level from killing obeaune for fin helm. Apparently, it is not dropping fin helm even though I have killed over 500 of those mermaid. For book keeping, I've got 29 obeaune card. Also, dc is preventing me from getting the cash point in iRO, lame. When I have time, I will kept hunting fin helm, and buy some ingredient to stock-up crush srike, storm blast, and other runes. After that, I need to work on my hotkeys, cos currently, its quite messy.

Well, back to writing reports.

Ragnarok Online Renewal

I don't wanna go back to it, but since I got some spare time, I joined Intense RO.
I have no idea what 3rd class to make so as always, start with a acolyte going for Arch Bishop.

Intense RO is a 150x, 150x, 50x is a high mid rate server so the leveling and gear hunting shounldn't be too bad.

Spent about 4 hours got to lv 90 High Priest. Gonna go back to study now.

Disable ctrl space for language bar switch

The ctrl space hotkey is really annoying when I am gaming or programming. It will just ruin the control of the game like navyfield or other fps game. It's just unacceptable. So I decided to disable the hotkey once and for all.

Apparently there is a bug in disable the ctrl space with the language bar in windows 7. This bug has existed ever since Windows XP era. The problem was that the options in keyboard advance settings to disable the hotkey is bugged. When you click the check box to disable or change it into a different hotkey, after you click ok, it will revert back to the original state.

Finally found a solution.

• open "regedit.exe" in run dialog
  
• Browse the registry editor to the location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Input Method\Hot Keys\
• Now delete registry entries that with the name: 0000007x (x indicates any number)

Done.

Eventhough my lv is 28, My rank is just going downhill. I am getting beat by the same build every single time. The cookie cutter build includes

• declaying bomb
• static field
• demon consuming seal
• great strength
• quickstep
• gale palm

With my current available skills, I am unable to handle it at all. Static field + demon consuming seal makes you a tank. Quickstep + GreatStrength makes you conststantly locked. Gale palm and declaying bomb just to finish the job. I even tried hard counter to those skill, it just isn't working. The only good news so far is that I discovered a slim chakra build for Las Nouches. It consist of the following skills:

• lotus
• bomb
• declaying bomb
• consuming dead seal
• substitution tech (rarely triggers but can't think of other skills to be replaced yet)
  
• curse seal of heaven (may switch out to something else)

However, this build only work up to lv 30 in Las Noches, cos lv 32 is like climbing another hill.

DAI O - day tour

I went to Dai O for a day, and stilt house are just everywhere. There are also lots of beach around the coast. The road are as expected, full of curve and uphill/downhill. It kind of remind me of initial D. I can imagine the AE86 delivering tofu lol. DAI O is a must visit tour for the foreigner when they come to HK. I believe this the place where stilt house still exist. The house are constucted on top of water with multiple supports.

There is a street full of traditional hk street-food like dry squid, egg puff, bean curd, and fishball. Yummy... That street is full of tourist. As I wait for my dry squid to get cook, I had to wait for the lineup for like 10min. But its worth the wait, cos after all, the dry squid is cooked with oldschool coal. Taste mmm mmm good.

UPDATE2 (Mar 14):
The nuclear radiation is said to be spreading to even further out. The evacuation warning has been raised from 10km to 300km. It is possible that the radiation may leak to other continent like South America and North America. Another nuclear power plant in Fukushima is in a state of emergency, and it may explode to release more radiation. Radiation evaluation on people are being conducted, and 22 people result in positive and need to be treated in the hospital. Currently, 1,500 people has been announced dead from the disaster. Countries like US and China are sending help for rescue operations. For the US, a Carrier was deploy. For China, a team of rescue team was formed and arrived in Japan. There are reports saying a 7.0 earthquake, and another tsunami with 3m of height will hit japan later.

UPDATE (Mar 12):
The nuclear power plant is leaking radiation, and the prime minister of japan is sending a evacuation notice to the people within 10km of that power plant. The destruction cause the mobile network, and electricity outage to some area of japan. As a result, people in Japan had to wait inline for public phone to tell their family and friends that they are save. One of the thing we should learn from the Japanese is that even under these chaotic event that causes terror and tremor, they're still able to remain in order. The success of this is because of their culture as well as the accumulated earthquake experience that they had. Even though the internet access is available, the speed of it were told to be slow. A record breaking 8.9 earthquake happened in Japan. Several aftershock and tsunami with 10 meter hit Japan right after the 8.9 magnitude quake. Cars and boat looks like toys in the bird eye view. It was a haunting scene. People experienced the quake claim it's the most terrified shock they've experienced.

The tsunami will also effect the other parts of the world like Hawaii west coast of North America.
Mother nature sure is powerful.

SD Gundam G Gen World

I got the game on the psp and wow, it's sure is fun! Had to pick a master in the beginning of the game, so I picked one of my favourite, pilot of Wing Zero Custom Heero. Bascially, the choice for master is to aim for the mechanic path that I wish to expand from. Because at the start of the game, any character can be bought. After from A1-AEx, I can pick another master again. For the second master I picked the guy using crossbone gundam. I choose it just because of the look of that gundam. It's small and cool. As for the pilots, I bought Amuro, Carmile, Kira, and Athrun. Going to get Setsuna, unicon pilot, and the pilot of the ZZ. Have to do more thinking after collecting those. As for the mechanic, I got WingZeroCustom as the powerhorse, Z, ZZ, double o riser, and a rogue strike. Currently having issues with the rogue strike path, don't know how it can turn it into freedom/justice. More updates later...

Whats Up Doc.

After the 10k Standard Charter Run, my left feet still hurts when I walk or lean on it. I finally went to see the doctor. Apparently, the tissue of me feet is breaking so I'll need to rest for 3 weeks. The next time I run the 10k, I should definitely do more training!

Nerd Rage~ Keyboard Smash

Wow there were a lot more people than I thought there would be. Waking up at 3:30am was too insane for me since I'm used to waking up at around 9ish. Unbelievable! I was able to finish till the end without walking~. Even-though I jogged slowly throughout the whole race. :) I arrived early with taxi and it costs $99.50. I might just have walk mid way if it past $100, since I only got a $100 bill lol. After I arrived to Victory Park, I changed cloth and get ready with my running gears.

I put my bag in the bag area, then I start to do some stretching. As expected, no line ups for the bag area. Since I have lots of time to spare, I did some extensive stretching. Usually I don't do much stretching, but afterall this is my 1st 10k run. It wouldn't hurt to do some extensive stretch. Also, I don't want to end up having to end up on the news cuz of some stupid injury. As I slowly walk to the starting point, I could see the '10K challenge group' on their way to the finish line (approx 2k left). At that time, I saw the leading truck with a giant clock '27:00". Man, they are fast!

As time passed, the starting time is near. Lots of people lined up to the water station, I didn't bother with that lineup. You can feel the hype from seeing runners from the challenge group, as well as announcements.

My plan was to start out slowly, increase the pace at around 4km. But what happen is when I get to 4km I talked to myself, I will speed up at 5km. After 5km, I did exactly the same thing saying to myself that I will speed up at 6km. This time I said to myself, I must not let myself to have another excuse again, I must speed up. Unfortunaly after I pass the 6km mark, I starts to get cramp. Therefore, I even slow down my pace abit to catch my breath for recovery. So in the end, I didn't speed up at all. I feel alright at around 8km mark, and think I can speed up, but it's going uphill and the road is slanted to the right. Speeding up here will require more energy than on a plain road. So I decided to speed up @ 9km. At 9km mark, I speed up a bit, but there is a part where the runners have to make a u-turn and go up the bridge that's quite steep. So in the end I only speed up in downhill. Even near the finish line, I didn't speed up much. And in the end I ended up with 1:11:31 for my record.

I know its a bit slow, but its my first time running the 10k. I am still proud of it that I complete the race without any walking. I believe I can definitely finish the run under an hour. Quote me on that for next year. :D

After the finish line, I got a bottle of water, a souvenir bag, and a banana/pear. Inside the souvenir bag, there are some coupons to restaurant that I will never use, energy bar bade in Canada, energy drink called 'iso tone', and bandage with some medicine. The energy bar taste alright, but I enjoy iso tone the most. It good for soothing the thirst, and there is a mint sensation to the throat, which was quite comforting.

The aftermath of this run cost me the injury in the left ankle. The pain begins when I was on my way home sitting in the MTR train. It hurts like hell when I walk. Because of that, I am walking slowly like a cripple. Hopfully it will recover soon.

Green Hornet

The movie was bad. The only good thing was for the laugh, story-wise it was cheesy. First of all, the name of the super hero was bad, and main hero of the story is a dumbo. Similarly to batman the hero is a rich dude that became a hero after his fathers death. The difference is their intention. Batman is actually serious in bringing down the crime in Gothem city; whereas, the green hornet just want the fame and to have fun in his lifetime. The green hornet success is due to his sidekick with martial-art, weapon alteration as backup. With Green hornet alone, he will get killed in no time.
Second, the story is just too simple, it lacks depth and character development throughout the story. The sidekick is too insane for guy that came from the orphanage. The skills of making perfect cup of cappuccino, and highly modification of cars and development of special weapons is just too much for an orphan.
I'd not recommend this movie to anyone except that have lot of time to spare. Out of all the superhero movie, this one is probably the worst one I have seen so far.

MTR is the easiest way to go on youtube

Today, after the 3 hour lecture, taking the MTR to head back home I heard a lady yells "Eat Banana" in Chinese then a police came on board to try understand and resolve the situation. I can barely hear what the police had said but that lady suddenly screamed, "HK have Peoples Right, I can say whatever I want!". Then she walks toward the sections of the cart that I was in. I saw her take pictures at pointing at the direction that she had came from with her flip phone. Even though I have no idea what the fuss is about, but I sure hope I wont be on the most viewed section on YouTube tomorrow cuz of her :p

Egypt president resignation

After 18 days of protest in Egypt, things have finally settle down. Given the pressure, now that the president, Hosni Mubarak, of Egypt have step down, Egyptians in the world are in a way united and celebrating. This event is like they are being rescued from water. But now, it leads to the concern of the future development of Egypt. Moving from a dictatorship to a military government system, it's still unstable atm.

MHP3 - Island of the GOD!

Finally got the Island of the God, but I didn't expect it at all. Afterall my aim was just to look for good charms. But end up getting tons of garbage charms. Overall its all good. I got my Island of the God, its all good :D Now, I just need those ancient dragon stone to upgrade it. I should have enough ingredient to make diablo U set to coop with this new baby.

Chinese New Year Celebration

Happy Chinese New Year! Gonna watch a new year movie, that movie is call '神奇hub女‘. Out of the three Chinese new year movie, that looks the most promising. The other two is just a mass of people singing and dancing around on the street. Gonna go to flea market now, and see how it goes.

UPDATES: Finally watched that movie, and it was alright. I had to line up for about 10min and paid $70 for the tickets on Lunar New Year. The theater is about 1/3 size of Vancouver's theatre. At the end I didn't get the chance to go to the flea market. But from what I heard, it wasn't very special this year. The only unique thing in HK's flea market are that there are some high-school student made product. Those products are usually more innovative and popular.
